STEP 2 - CHOOSING A LENDER

You have three choices for your mortgage: Banks, Mortgage Banks, and Brokers (who work as independent agents). Banks process loans in-house.

Mortgage bankers represent only one finance company. Brokers work with a variety of lenders and are usually the most flexible with loan guidelines and rates.

You should look for a loan based not upon the mortgage rate but upon the history and business record of the lender. Do a survey of the lenders in your area by seeing who is more flexible, who offers the best service, who has the least complicated mortgage process, and who has the best rates.
